What does Classroom Monitor do?
This app helps to track the time everybody in a classroom or meeting spends with talking: it combines a timer with statistics for the current day or a past period. In this way you can find out who takes the floor most of the time and who probably should get her or his turn more often.
The app includes the following features:
- A list of people: you can add or delete people you want to monitor (just click "Edit" on the start screen)
- A timer: when you click on a person on the list, the timer for this person starts running.
- Statistics (click "Statistics" on the start screen): you can see who talked how long in total, just today, or in the last few days, weeks or months. You can even mail the statistics to anybody you wish (by clicking on the compose symbol in the upper right corner of the Statistics screen).
Who should use it?
You can - of course - use it for fun: just to see who is the most garrulous of your business colleagues. If you are a teacher, you are probably aware of the fact that some pupils get to talk a lot, while others keep quiet. The app can help you to see such patterns and to correct them where necessary.
In the future, features that may be included are:
- Import people from Address Book
- Extended person information (image, gender etc.)
- Editing people information
- Extended statistics (e.g. gender-related etc.)
